was too
tired yesterday so didn't post, although i wanted to
about the golf classic.
intellectual conclusion: it was a waste of an academic day.
emotional conclusion: it was boring but great
okay, only a brief post about yesterday..
September 23, 2008 was one of the unique-est days i've lived. golf classic IS boring. we went for morning assembly and blah blah, then brought the goodie bags, we were in charge of that, and the lucky draw stuff to the lorry and loaded and blah blah... and then we boarded the bus with all our instruments, including tuba and baritone sax and so on. ohya, had to wear that dumb mango t-shirt since that was the only shirt the performing arts had in common. like bleh, whatever. anyways i sat behind sharon and was put on restriction for 10 whole hours... at first is only 5... er 6?... hours lorh... but you know... then later on i kept my promise after that break at the 5th hour. hehe. anyways then we carried stuff to the store room, labeled office though..., and then packed bananas, apparently as energy food for the golfers, all 144 of them. didn't know could get so many, but then when sharon, daniel, khirdir and i did the goodie bag reception booth, found out they were mostly in companies. anyways we tried to study there but kind of hard cos ppl kept coming. ok, then sharon and i did the ticking and daniel and khirdir did the give of bags, and sharon kept complaining i spoke too softly. bleh. then after the tee off the GOH, MP Dr Vivian Balakrishnan or something, came and daniel got to usher him to the reception, so he can say he's spoken face to face with an MP of sing now. anyways then ate lunch and went into that small store room/office to practice with the gu zheng. so in that room there were eilen, elaine, and two other guzheng zhi rong and oriana i tink.. and then the winds, sharon and i, wenlong, khirdir and qian yu. we all played a litle than later went to practice at the restaurant then ate dinner. dinner was funny cos we didn't know that it wasn't buffet. so we were in the lounge above the golfers terrace cooling off before we changed into band uniform. then decided to go downstairs and found out that we just had to sit down and they'd serve you. so ate with sharon and the saxophones. then changed and got ready for the performance, the only reason we were there. so we played our beauty and the beast. it went okay. i didn't mess and played as loudly as i could. we sat like, from the extreme left facing the 'stage', flute (me), clarinet (sharon), saxophone (wenlong. khirdir, qianyu), trumpet (darryl..duh), french horn (ling chao... his horn broke just before performance so had to try to fix.. yikes), trombone (jun hao... gave cue to start), tube (daniel). since no conductor jun hao cued to start and darryl to finish. guess it was k, but was very sweaty and had the nervous cramp as usual and sharon's probably not that cool about it now since arise shine i also had it... next year's syf going to have a break down SL flute...me.. yikes!
anyways it was a waste of a day and today during chem eileen elaine sharon and i tried to cramp ss for the test we were supposed to have yesterday, but brought forward to today for the golf classic ppl, chengsin darren nigel (chior), sharon and I (band), and eileen elaine (guzheng), janice (was absent for dunno what) so after school was supposed to have but that ss teacher wasn't there so... just went for bio prac and then left together lorhs.
back to topic, yes golf classic was not that good use of time, but apparently the auction our school held raised 6k, but it was kind of rewarding time for a people phobia person like me. talked a lot with khirdir and qianyu and got to try sharon's clar (absolutely disastrous, fingering can, blowing no sound.. shar say because bite too hard or something... or maybe it's just me.. hehe and she tried my flute. she can blow, but ambrouchure [sp not sure] a little weird..). anyways yupp, got to talk to jun hao and darryl too. i guess now we look differently. and talked a lot with sharon on the bus about non band stuff, which is weird cos normally always band or 3e. then today talked a lot about the set piece...
okay, i gotta study and i'm hearing something about a certain place with a maple leaf on the flag...!!...
