I JUST
FAILED ENGLISH PAPER 1!!!
like dots, i totally blanked out during the composition section, and i didn't write anything, well, i did, but did the dumb thing and cancelled everything! yupp, this is carissa the dumb man.. so i just failed that part. the worst part... it wasn't a hard topic lorh! well, not really... it was 'regrets'...
and i'm having some now...
seriously don't think i'm going to make it back to canada now...

was too
tired yesterday so didn't post, although i wanted to
about the golf classic.
intellectual conclusion: it was a waste of an academic day.
emotional conclusion: it was boring but great
okay, only a brief post about yesterday..
September 23, 2008 was one of the unique-est days i've lived. golf classic IS boring. we went for morning assembly and blah blah, then brought the goodie bags, we were in charge of that, and the lucky draw stuff to the lorry and loaded and blah blah... and then we boarded the bus with all our instruments, including tuba and baritone sax and so on. ohya, had to wear that dumb mango t-shirt since that was the only shirt the performing arts had in common. like bleh, whatever. anyways i sat behind sharon and was put on restriction for 10 whole hours... at first is only 5... er 6?... hours lorh... but you know... then later on i kept my promise after that break at the 5th hour. hehe. anyways then we carried stuff to the store room, labeled office though..., and then packed bananas, apparently as energy food for the golfers, all 144 of them. didn't know could get so many, but then when sharon, daniel, khirdir and i did the goodie bag reception booth, found out they were mostly in companies. anyways we tried to study there but kind of hard cos ppl kept coming. ok, then sharon and i did the ticking and daniel and khirdir did the give of bags, and sharon kept complaining i spoke too softly. bleh. then after the tee off the GOH, MP Dr Vivian Balakrishnan or something, came and daniel got to usher him to the reception, so he can say he's spoken face to face with an MP of sing now. anyways then ate lunch and went into that small store room/office to practice with the gu zheng. so in that room there were eilen, elaine, and two other guzheng zhi rong and oriana i tink.. and then the winds, sharon and i, wenlong, khirdir and qian yu. we all played a litle than later went to practice at the restaurant then ate dinner. dinner was funny cos we didn't know that it wasn't buffet. so we were in the lounge above the golfers terrace cooling off before we changed into band uniform. then decided to go downstairs and found out that we just had to sit down and they'd serve you. so ate with sharon and the saxophones. then changed and got ready for the performance, the only reason we were there. so we played our beauty and the beast. it went okay. i didn't mess and played as loudly as i could. we sat like, from the extreme left facing the 'stage', flute (me), clarinet (sharon), saxophone (wenlong. khirdir, qianyu), trumpet (darryl..duh), french horn (ling chao... his horn broke just before performance so had to try to fix.. yikes), trombone (jun hao... gave cue to start), tube (daniel). since no conductor jun hao cued to start and darryl to finish. guess it was k, but was very sweaty and had the nervous cramp as usual and sharon's probably not that cool about it now since arise shine i also had it... next year's syf going to have a break down SL flute...me.. yikes!
anyways it was a waste of a day and today during chem eileen elaine sharon and i tried to cramp ss for the test we were supposed to have yesterday, but brought forward to today for the golf classic ppl, chengsin darren nigel (chior), sharon and I (band), and eileen elaine (guzheng), janice (was absent for dunno what) so after school was supposed to have but that ss teacher wasn't there so... just went for bio prac and then left together lorhs.
back to topic, yes golf classic was not that good use of time, but apparently the auction our school held raised 6k, but it was kind of rewarding time for a people phobia person like me. talked a lot with khirdir and qianyu and got to try sharon's clar (absolutely disastrous, fingering can, blowing no sound.. shar say because bite too hard or something... or maybe it's just me.. hehe and she tried my flute. she can blow, but ambrouchure [sp not sure] a little weird..). anyways yupp, got to talk to jun hao and darryl too. i guess now we look differently. and talked a lot with sharon on the bus about non band stuff, which is weird cos normally always band or 3e. then today talked a lot about the set piece...
okay, i gotta study and i'm hearing something about a certain place with a maple leaf on the flag...!!...

teddy bears, when you do a certain number of
games. julia and yvonne were together, and
shermin was with her classmates, and janice was
with gloria and cheng sin wasn't there, so i
hung around with sharon. we didn't do much but
got on free stamp, and answers from tianmin, so
ended up getting three, and of course that whole
prize thing. and during the prize giving they
were giving out teddy bears to whoever could
answer questions of get their lucky draw number
called. and tianmin was so pro man, he went up
and asked for the bag of bears, even though
there were only a few left, then i couldn't hear
his ans but they liked it, and he got a bunch of
highlighters too! so sharon and lihui ended up
with a teddy bear and janice a second one. then
i sat on the bus with sharon behind gloria and
janice back to school.
the bus time was funny too, cos of the guys naturally, and then took mrt home with janice and hendra.
anyways canada looks bleak. i was in ngee ann and they were asking us to join and that stuff, and sometimes, it seems that, university is so close, or poly/jc at least, it's only a year away! yet, when you really want to go overseas, it seems very far away. as tianmin always says... so near yet so far... with HUGE emphasis on the so's.. sigh.. i really wanna go back! erm... question is.. why? mostly for...

i'm so not
looking forward to eoys, have this nagging feeling
that's i'm not going to do well. bleh. and can't even
go away. dots. i wanna stick with my friends, even
though some ppl piss me off a lot, but overall, i try
very hard to keep my friends and the ties between
them. sometimes i do dumb things to stretch the line.
like today in physics i was being loser and pulling
shar's hair, again, and then ms lem saw, and then ask
sharon what i did. like woah, major bomb for me, and
i didn't even touch it for the rest of the day. and
was like super emo and hardly responded when weili
tianmin did their 'so'ing. and there was an english
vocab test today, so everyone brought dictionaries
cos they were allowed. and daohan weili tianmin were
looking up words that started with so and stuff.
double bleh. anyways it was a rough start and my head
hurt like crazy for a moment that way it does when i
wish the floor would open up and swallow me. math was
so hot, and mr hui always closes the door, right
where i sit. hua, very hot man.. sorry tainmin.

golf classic coming up on tuesday, i'm so excited!

the golf classic is a fund raising project by phs to raise funds for the performing arts, and no surprise, band's going. only some ppl, selected performers, who will be performing for mr bala.. something minister of youth and sports who will be the GOH. dots. we're only allowed a certain number of people, so we maxed out. daniel, kang ren, jun hao, darryl, ling chao, wen long, sharon and me i tinks. and we;re playing something from the what broadway classics. mrtan gonna choose. and it's on tuesday, sept 23! and here's the best part, it's from 7.30am to 9pm! that means we won't be in school! okay, so maybe tht's a good thing, but missing too much school isnt good can? and kang ren sharon and i have bio test on that day lorh!! ~sighs~ and we'll not only perform, also must be there's errand kids. at least in the afternoon there's still time so we can slack/study a little. darn it lahs, should ask mich go instead to represent flute. but it's not so bad since sharon is going :P so after band today we the exco, daniel darryl julia xingzhi mich and me were packing their goody bags. actually this must be some big event, there's golf balls, lots of vouchers, a $6.80 golf mag, a cap and a JJ fair t-shirt. like whatever, jj shirt not that cool can? then we the performers have to wear the mango t-shirt! THE MANGO T!! that's so not cool, such an ugly thing, oh at school skirt. bleh... then mus change into band u for the performance, the 5 min performance. basically, we're there the whole day mainly for the 5 min performance at dinner. and that's not very nice ok?
ok, apparently mom's not flying the rocket. she's ok with me spending a whole academic day, 3 days to exam i might add?, at a golf course. hmm... maybe should bring my com to study..? cady wouldn't mind, will you?

studying overseas? not just me..

hahaha~
ok it's crazy, but in pe shar, ju and i were talking about studies, well, future studies. actually it started with sharon and i, during warmup exercises, when... erm somebody mention something about it?... was it shar or me.. it may have been me cuz i've been thinking about it ALL weekend. and ju said she'd probably be going to the states, and shar said she wants to go to out of sing. and i said same as i'm always whining about, CANADA. and that i am. sharon said she would do nursing or medicine. Julia says it's far away, i said maybe i'd do music... but didn't talk much. apparently sharon is desperate to get out of asia, that's actually kinda cool, but i'm not in the habit of telling about everyone on my blog
so before musictec i went to dad's new office and they were talking to mom in the conference room. mom said a lot of things, but it look like we might need to get As for exams, like 80s and 90s, if i wanna go to UBC that is. but she said go to canada and get those As or something like that. .. haha, i guess it looks that i might be able to go back soon, or else stay here and mug out. and so mom's going to vancouver christian school tomorrow, so on monday canada time, to check it out. i guess i will HAVE to finish high school there if i really wanna go to canada universities. erm... or maybe go from here to there between high and university. hmm, it's a dilemma alright.. i guess we'll have to wait a while to get things sorted out about canada when we can have a full family meeting..
you know what, I think if i can get into UBC, i'll go into music, Bmus, and maybe major in flute?

okok,
should be studying now..
went to church this morning.. and now wanna eat but NO DINNER. argh... gotta wait..
yesterday mrtan said that we have 3 possible SYF chose pieces. the first one is Danse Diabolique. we're going okay with it now, and the flutes and... not nailing it as well as the clar but i tink we're getting there.. I
just have to work ttttttttthhhhhhhaaaaaattttttt
much harder. then we got one called To Challenge
the Sky and Heavens Above, which is the easiest,
what ahtan called a safety net. The last is
Merry Widow, maybe can get on saturday.
Speaking of flute, been checking out the canada universities lately, coz mom and dad said maybe i'll have a chance to go back for last parts of high school and uni, and mom's checking into it, vancouver school board said that it's better to go from high school to university. So i've been looking at the courses and stuff i can study. I've been looking at UBC and SFU basically. UBC, if i go there maybe can study music? Bachelor in Music, then i can play my flute xD haha~ there are theory and history and stuff, but there is a part where you have to collect credits in small ensemble and things that have to do with playing/singing, and i'll probably do flute if i do. I printed out the required audition pieces and everything. and for the one i have to pre-prepare on my own, probably danse bah. unless i get another good one coz ahtan says danse is a good audition piece. as for SFU, the music course there is more technical, not so much for playing, or not at all that i can find. so if i go SFU maybe i'll do publishing. After all, I am a writer, no? But i much prefer taking Music, major in music, but that way my options are very unclear. i could be a professional performer, but i do have a bad case of stage fright, and that doesn't help, but i do love my flute and music in general. or i could minor in something and do that, or i guess if i really do do music, CARISSA'S GOTTA WORK TO BE DE BEST YAR?! or else i'm gonna be beaten up so bad i won't be able to press the keys. and i gotta brush up on sightreading.
in case that i have to stick around in singapore, thanks to a certain her majesty miss J.So, i might consider doing film. I mean, that's my option for poly, for ngee ann anyways. nanyang's a little harder coz dun have anything to study... maybe i'll consider health science or engineering then. but i hope i don't have to stay back in singapore. i don't want to go back and fell terribly late and out of place... but younger sisters have the always FIRST AND LAST SAY..
anyways i'm hoping it works out and i can go back for the rest of high school and university. studying music'll be so cool! pressurizing but cool. dude, if i survive and get a bachelor in music, I'll be bouncing off the walls. question is, what'll i do with it? teach? perform? I'll have to start practicing now, get my flute skills up up up! and sustainable in a stress full and dog eat dog world, and make sure i'm university standard now, so that maybe i have a chance to do super duper well when i study it, if i study it...

yesterday mrtan said that we have 3 possible SYF chose pieces. the first one is Danse Diabolique. we're going okay with it now, and the flutes and... not nailing it as well as the clar

the Sky and Heavens Above, which is the easiest,
what ahtan called a safety net. The last is
Merry Widow, maybe can get on saturday.
Speaking of flute, been checking out the canada universities lately, coz mom and dad said maybe i'll have a chance to go back for last parts of high school and uni, and mom's checking into it, vancouver school board said that it's better to go from high school to university. So i've been looking at the courses and stuff i can study. I've been looking at UBC and SFU basically. UBC, if i go there maybe can study music? Bachelor in Music, then i can play my flute xD haha~ there are theory and history and stuff, but there is a part where you have to collect credits in small ensemble and things that have to do with playing/singing, and i'll probably do flute if i do. I printed out the required audition pieces and everything. and for the one i have to pre-prepare on my own, probably danse bah. unless i get another good one coz ahtan says danse is a good audition piece. as for SFU, the music course there is more technical, not so much for playing, or not at all that i can find. so if i go SFU maybe i'll do publishing. After all, I am a writer, no? But i much prefer taking Music, major in music, but that way my options are very unclear. i could be a professional performer, but i do have a bad case of stage fright, and that doesn't help, but i do love my flute and music in general. or i could minor in something and do that, or i guess if i really do do music, CARISSA'S GOTTA WORK TO BE DE BEST YAR?! or else i'm gonna be beaten up so bad i won't be able to press the keys. and i gotta brush up on sightreading.
in case that i have to stick around in singapore, thanks to a certain her majesty miss J.So, i might consider doing film. I mean, that's my option for poly, for ngee ann anyways. nanyang's a little harder coz dun have anything to study... maybe i'll consider health science or engineering then. but i hope i don't have to stay back in singapore. i don't want to go back and fell terribly late and out of place... but younger sisters have the always FIRST AND LAST SAY..
anyways i'm hoping it works out and i can go back for the rest of high school and university. studying music'll be so cool! pressurizing but cool. dude, if i survive and get a bachelor in music, I'll be bouncing off the walls. question is, what'll i do with it? teach? perform? I'll have to start practicing now, get my flute skills up up up! and sustainable in a stress full and dog eat dog world, and make sure i'm university standard now, so that maybe i have a chance to do super duper well when i study it, if i study it...

I have no idea if windows can load this, i tell you apple is just great compared to windows if you aren't playing computer games can?, but i kind of like this song. It's kind of cool, and i hope you can hear it. It's called place in this world. i like it... check out xD.

poor froggy, hope he will rest in peace, haha to quote some 3e girls.
anyways we dissected some frogs in biology on wednesday. About 5-8 people dissected one frog. hendry and mrs choy knocked the frogs with alcohol, and then we went into our dissection groups and stared. in my group there was eileen, elaine, me, sharon, claudia, alem and gloria. Eileen was the main dissector,but we all cut something. the frog, we named him froggy, had very rubbery skin and at first i didn't want to cut, so i just helped with the pinning of the frog to the pan. then when the skin was open, elaine cut the muscles and chest bones and then we pinned that down to expose froggy's organs. Mrs choy said that froggy had some sort of infection because he had yellow spots on his liver and a big lump. so we were kind of euthanizing him :P anyways. we took out the eggs and cut out the liver. i think sharon was hold his head with alcohol drenched cotton wools, and claudia was kind of freaked out, so she helped get supplies. then we decided to end his life so he wouldn't feel the pain of us cutting him up. so we cut off the lungs, and it deflated to like 3 times smaller, and then the heart. the heart is just cool okay. coz after we cut it out and put it tot he side of the dissecting pan, it was still pumping throughout the dissection on it's own! and it was really cute. anyways we took out all his organs, and everyone cut something, except claudia. sharon cut the stomach open and inside we found scales... weirdly. and we also cut his rectum and there was poo there. yucks. and then the found his nerves and played with that... it was cool too coz his legs would twitch. i forgot who cut those. then elaine and i finally cut the backbone. that was hard, but i didn't mind since froggy was already dead. i forgot what gloria cut though.. but i know we all got a chance... i think..
well in the end everyone was just playing, because it was over and the hearts had been cut out. eileen pulled out his tongue and stuck her hand down to see if it was connected. ahahas. 3e08 rocks eh? i like working with eileen, elaine, claudia, Gloria, Sharon... and probably a whole lot of other people if i had the chance. but they are really great to work with, especially gloria sharon and e twins.

anyways. class is getting darn weird. the 'so' is getting spread to more and more people. like julia and gang.. and of course the one who use it the most are xiaofeng, daohan tianmon weili.. and whenever i see lingchao he shoots it too. blah, it's getting mighty annoying and scary. but i can't figure out... isit a good or bad indicator that their teasing me 24/7?¡
anyways i gotta hit the books, or i'll never nail this exam. argh!

yesterday
went to watch wall•e with my s'pore cousins. hmm..
guess it was nice. was bout a robot which had a very
curious personality, and very lonely, so when her
made friends with another robot called eve, who was
sent to earth, which had been evacuated and everyone
was in space for 700 years, to find life or a plant
that could survive, he finds all ways possible to
keep her. when she was detected positive for plant
life, she shuts down, and wall•e gets devastated. he
even follows her ship into outer space to stay with
her.
in
the end he almost loses his personality because
he was zapped and spoiled, so when eve replaced
all his parts with normal ones he also became a
normal robot. but he came around in the end, and
the humans came back to earth after realizing
that they could only live if they worked
together to remake the earth.
I guess it's a nice story, and it's a pretty good movie. wall•e's really cute. i like him the best. but i tink narnia is better. and i also like the character m-o, the one that is also cleaning. ahaha.
anyways we went yesterday at j8's GV for the 7 show. just us 9 cousins, no adults. so it was pretty cool. vin organized the whole thing, so i guess it was the first official cousin's day out.
