are my main points from today's sermon, which I found
interesting. :)
Church has become complicated.
-Matthew 22:34-40
1)John Wesley had a deep desire for God.
2)John Wesley knew that God could be encountered in a real way.
Knowledge in the head can still result in you feeling that your life is empty. (So true...)
We need to have our encounter with God.
3 goals in worship: express, encounter, experience.
3)There can be a methodical way to pursue God. (?)
We will be able to hear what we desire to.
=The Bible decided Wesley's every action.
=Life style of prayer.
no prayer-> no joy.
=God focused worship.
Aim at pleasing God beyond pleasing anyone else.
=A heart for others.
Do all the good you can.
Meet up purposefully as Small Groups
=The Church existed for people to encounter and experience God. And live that way.
Yay. :D I think this is true, and hope we can remember to apply this in our daily lives. (:
